The Eliasson Global Leadership Prize of the Tällberg Foundation is given annually to outstanding leaders from any country and any discipline whose work is global in application, based on universal values, innovative, optimistic and courageous.
Prize winners are nominated through an open, online process and ultimately selected by an international jury that is drawn from a wide range of nationalities, professions and ideologies and is regularly renewed. Anyone from any country can nominate. ‘
This year we received 820 nominations from more than 130 countries and the jury will review all the nominations in mid-August and select the people who, in their judgment, best exemplify the types of leaders needed today.
The next step will be the leadership workshop and celebration in Mexico City in November during which we will announce the 2018 prize winners.
Each prize winner receives $50,000, made possible through major support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. First awarded in 2005, the current version of the prize was inaugurated in 2014.
This year The Tallberg Foundation is generously supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) and other charitable foundations and individual donors. In addition, SNF has issued a challenge grant and will match contributions totaling $1 million raised by 2020 with the same amount.
