Melinda and Bill Gates are the 2012 recipients of the Tällberg Foundation Leadership Award for Principled Pragmatism.

Having realized their business vision, which indeed also was a social vision, Melinda and Bill Gates turned their fortune into an instrument for the improvement of livelihoods of the world’s poorest. They together created together Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which over the last 15 years has become the largest private donor in the pursuit of eradicating poverty and improving health in the developing world.
