Learning Journey to Silicon Valley

The Tällberg Foundation organized a learning journey for e-man, exploring the boundaries of the most innovative technological and social innovations alongside newly emerging global trends.

Since the founding of Stanford University, up to our present day “in the cloud,” Silicon Valley has been a dynamic center for innovation. This is where radio, HP, Xerox PARC, Intel, venture capital, software, Apple Computer, and the Internet, etc. have had their origins. Thinkers and entrepreneurs from life sciences, technology, philosophy, culture, music, etc., have created an effervescent cluster of innovation, creativity and value creation. This entrepreneurial force is surrounded by the social and cultural environment in the Bay Area. One cannot talk about the history of the Bay Area without mentioning its economic growth and social development. But equally significant to the region has been the rich artistic and cultural climate that’s been nurtured here. There is probably no other place in the world where one finds so great a concentration of creative forces interacting with each other.

That’s why e-man chose Silicon Valley region of California, USA, 2013 as the destination for a learning journey with the aim of exploring the boundaries of the most innovative technological and social innovations alongside newly emerging global trends.

The Tällberg Foundation has a long legacy with the evolution of Silicon Valley, starting as early as 1968. Bo Ekman, the chairman of the foundation, also the chairman of e-man since 2004, has been an active partner of the Global Business Network (GBN). He has also started two consulting companies in the area and through these ventures developed a network with creative and leading individuals that have been important players in the shaping of the digital world.

The learning journey was lead by Tällberg Foundation and was facilitated by Tom Cummings.
