On November 26, The Tällberg Foundation convened the first “Tällberg Virtual Conversation” to discuss the prospect for climate negotiations.
In the wake of the China-US climate announcement and on the eve of COP 20 in Lima (Dec. 1-14) we wanted to provoke a conversation that considers why past negotiations have produced so little progress, and whether the prospects are any better now. Does the China-US deal contribute to the UN-led process or signal its demise? How substantial are the policy changes being implemented by non-state actors-cities, provinces and states, businesses, etc.? Are there other ways to think about political coalitions and political action beyond the UN process?
This conversation are intended to be the first in an irregular series of conversations that will be hosted by the Tallberg Foundation
