Anders Wijkman is Vice-Chairman of the Tällberg Foundation. Anders was a Member of the European Parliament from 1999-2009, where he was a member of the Committees on Environment, Development Cooperation and Climate Change. Prior to his election to the European Parliament, he served as Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Policy Director of UNDP (1995-1997), Director-General of SAREC - Swedish Agency for Research Cooperation with Developing Countries - (1992-1994), Secretary-General of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (1989-1991) and Secretary Ceneral of the Swedish Red Cross (1979-1988). He is chairman of GLOBE EU and the ZERI Foundation. He is a member of the Club of Rome, the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences and the Swedish Royal Academy of Agriculture and Forestry and a Board member of the Stockholm Resilience Center. He is vice chairman of the Board of Tällberg Foundation. He is the author of several books on sustainable development, Hiv/Aids and European integration. Born in 1944, Anders is married and has three children.
