The Swedish PostcodeLottery is proud to be the lead contributor of Tällberg Foundation and Tällberg Forum 2009. Sometimes we get the question “Why?” “Why does a lottery gets involved in issues like climate change and sustainable development?” “Why does a lottery support the Tällberg Foundation and the Tällberg Forum?”.

The answer is simple:

- We wish to fulfill our vision – to improve conditions for mankind and for the environment.

The Postcode Lottery is a fundraising mechanism. As social entrepreneurs, we use commercial tools and the market forces to raise money through the Lottery. We call the model Market-Driven Charity. All the profit from the Lottery is donated to charities. Equally important is that we give publicity and awareness to the urgent work they do – through channels such as television, marketing and events. The Postcode Lottery is not an expert organization to solve the challenges the world is facing. We provide and support platforms for experts to act. At Tällberg Forum we have the honor to meet some of the world´s most distinguished and dedicated actors in the fight for a better future - a future where we have achieved a balance between welfare, growth and the needs of the environment.
