Professor Russell L Ackoff, management thinker, organizational theorist and Professor Emeritus at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, passed away on 29 October 2009.
He was both a friend of and a profound influence to many in the Tällberg network. Bo Ekman says “Few individuals have mattered more to me than Russ ever since I read his ‘Scientific Method’ in 1965. I came to know him personally in 1974, and I have my world view very much thanks to him.”. He was also the recipient of the first Tällberg Foundation Leadership Award for Principled Pragmatism, in 2005.
